Newham Parks Tennis

Newham Parks Tennis gives people across the borough somewhere affordable to play, learn and compete. Working with the London Borough of Newham and the LTA, National Tennis runs tennis across nine parks, with weekly coaching for Youth and adults, holiday camps and social sessions, and every court booked through one Newham Parks Tennis website.

In a busy inner-London borough, the local park is often the only place people can try tennis. Newham's courts needed to be easy to find and book, cheap to use, and backed by coaching that brings new players in and keeps them playing.

• One website for every park. All nine sites book through Newham Parks Tennis, with a Club Pass for regular players and pay and play for everyone else.
• Coaching for every age. Weekly Youth coaching through the LTA Youth stages, from Start to Yellow, and adult groups at beginner, intermediate and advanced level, on monthly plans with no fixed contract.
• Camps in the school holidays. Holiday camps for 5 to 15 year olds at Stratford Park and Gooseley Playing Fields.
• Social tennis. Free Club Social sessions for Club Pass members at Gooseley, Royal Victoria Gardens and Stratford Park.

In December 2023 eight courts at Plashet Park, Royal Victoria Gardens and Little Ilford Park reopened after a £153,000 renovation funded by the UK Government and the LTA Tennis Foundation, with new gate access and online booking.
