Newbury & Thatcham Community Tennis

Newbury & Thatcham Community Tennis brings three sites together under one membership and one booking website: Newbury Tennis Club, Victoria Park and Thatcham Tennis Club.

National Tennis runs the project with Newbury Town Council, Newbury Tennis Club, Thatcham Memorial Foundation and the LTA, under a ten-year partnership agreed in 2017.

Tennis in Newbury and Thatcham was spread across a club and two public sites. The partners wanted one affordable, joined-up offer that opened tennis up to everyone in the two towns, not just club members.

• One membership, three sites. A low-cost household membership and one booking website cover all three sites, with pay and play for everyone else.
• Floodlit courts. Newbury Tennis Club and Victoria Park are floodlit for evening play.
• Coaching and camps. Youth and adult coaching through the week, with holiday camps in the school breaks.
• More ways to play. Pickleball sessions run at Newbury Tennis Club.
