Safeguarding at National Tennis
Nothing is more important to National Tennis than the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved in our sport — children, young people, adults at risk, coaches, staff and volunteers.
If you see something, say something.
National Tennis Association is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and adults at risk who participate in our programmes and activities. We work in line with the Lawn Tennis Association’s (LTA) safeguarding standards and expect everyone connected with our venues, programmes and activities to share that commitment.
Report a Safeguarding Concern
If you have a concern about the welfare of a child, young person or adult at risk, please don’t keep it to yourself. Every concern will be taken seriously and handled with care and confidentiality.
If someone is in immediate danger or a crime is in progress, always contact the police first.
Our Commitment
- All coaches, staff and volunteers working with children hold a valid and enhanced DBS check and complete safeguarding training in line with LTA guidelines.
- All of our venues are registered with the Lawn Tennis Association and operate in accordance with the LTA Venue Safeguarding Policy.
- We take all safeguarding concerns seriously and handle them with appropriate care and confidentiality.
- Safeguarding is a standing agenda item in our operations team meetings.
- Our policies are reviewed at least annually by the Lead Safeguarding Officer.
