This is a full-time position based within an established multi-club programme in West Berkshire. The programme sees over 200 weekly players across three well-established tennis sites, all in close proximity (within 20 min drive time). The successful candidate will take on the Head Coach responsibilities, on and off the court.
On-court delivery consists of a current well established programme seeing over 200 weekly players. Delivery includes: LTA Youth Start, adult groups and individuals tuition.
The successful candidate will be able to deliver an individual coaching business alongside delivering a group coaching programme. The successful candidate will quickly build a minimum of 10-15 hours of regular individual coaching sessions, which will be supported with marketing by NTA.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Court Delivery: Continue to deliver and maintain high quality tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Youth Start, Tennis Express, Adult Sessions, Club Nights and Develop school/club links to enhance the outreach in West Berkshire.
- Off-Court Management: Oversee the respective tennis programmes, assessing the programme quality with the Programme Manager, manage your venues court bookings, handle small administrative tasks. Provide outreach support, assist facility users and perform additional duties to foster the programme growth.
- Personal Coaching Business: Opportunity to supplement income through individual coaching on a self-employed basis.
- Other duties may be required such as coach meetings, committee meetings, including on and off court training.
Hours and Compensation:
- Full-time role, 30 hours per week, plus up to 10-15 hours of individual coaching.
- Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Potential for additional income from personal coaching, competition, camps and community events such as Schools, estimated at £12,000 – £16,000 per year.
- Total combined income potential: Up to £40,000

Personal Specification:
The successful applicant will ideally be an LTA Accredited Level 3 coach or above and have:
On Court:
- A minimum 3 years experience as an Accredited LTA Coach, tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
- Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
Off-Court Responsibilities:
- Strong planning skills to develop and execute long-term visions for programme growth.
- Ability to engage with NTA management, Schools, Parents and Committees.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to problem solve.
General Skills and Qualities:
- A dedication to personal and professional development, staying abreast of the latest trends in tennis coaching, sports management, and customer service.
