Job Description
Join East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club, one of the premier tennis venues in the East of England, located in the heart of Norwich. We are seeking an outstanding Head Coach to lead, grow and shape a high-quality, inclusive racket sports programme, while playing a key role in enhancing the overall member experience within the clubhouse.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving participation, developing a high-performing coaching team, and maximising the use of both court and clubhouse spaces through innovative programming and events.
The role also forms part of the National Tennis regional leadership structure, contributing to wider strategic decision-making across the business.
Role Overview
The Head Coach will lead all aspects of the tennis programme, creating a clear vision for participation and performance across all age groups and abilities. Alongside on-court delivery, the role will play an important part in coordinating member engagement through events and activities, working closely with the Food & Beverage Supervisor to maximise use of the clubhouse and social spaces.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a flagship venue and build a thriving, sustainable and community-focused programme.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Leadership & Coaching
- Lead and deliver a high-quality, structured coaching programme across mini tennis, juniors, adults, and performance players
- Deliver a core programme of group coaching (typically 20–25+ hours per week), alongside individual lessons
- Design and implement a clear programme pathway from beginner to performance level
- Drive participation growth and programme revenue through innovative session design and outreach
- Oversee holiday camps, competitions, and internal events
Team Leadership & Workforce Development
- Lead, manage and support the coaching team, creating a positive, high-performance environment
- Recruit, onboard and mentor coaches, supporting their development and progression
- Contribute to the wider workforce development strategy, helping build a strong coaching pipeline in the region
- Set standards for delivery, customer experience, and programme quality
Clubhouse & Member Engagement
- Coordinate a calendar of social, competitive, and community events to enhance member experience
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Supervisor to maximise use of the clubhouse space
- Support revenue growth of the clubhouse and café through well-planned events, competitions, and social activity
- Collaborate with the Food & Beverage Supervisor to maximise commercial opportunities linked to on-court programming
- Ensure alignment between on-court activity and clubhouse usage to create a vibrant club environment
Operations & Growth
- Take ownership of programme performance, including participation, retention, and revenue growth
- Build relationships with members, parents, and partners to strengthen the club community
- Support marketing and promotion of the programme in collaboration with the wider team
- Contribute to the overall strategic development of the venue
Regional Leadership & Business Contribution
- Be an active member of the National Tennis regional leadership group, contributing to the wider direction and strategic development of the business
- Play a role in key decision-making across the region, sharing insight from East Anglia Tennis & Squash Club to inform broader planning
- Collaborate with senior leaders across the organisation, contributing to initiatives that drive participation, workforce development, and commercial growth
- Gain exposure to wider business operations, supporting both personal development and the continued evolution of the National Tennis programme

Person SpecificationEssential Qualifications & Experience
- LTA Level 3 Accredited+ Coach (Level 4 preferred or working towards)
- Proven experience leading or contributing to a successful coaching programme
- Experience managing or mentoring other coaches
- Strong understanding of player development across all age groups
