Job Description
This is an employed position with National Tennis Association as Head of Luton Parks Tennis – Immediate start.
The role is a part time role between core group delivery and individual coaching hours, but could easily be a full time position for the right candidate.
On-court delivery consists of School/Club links, LTA Youth Start through to Adult group sessions. The successful candidate will be able to deliver an individual coaching business. There are no court fees to deliver individual coaching and the successful candidate will run a self-employed coaching business alongside delivering a group coaching programme.
The successful candidate will quickly build a minimum of 10-15 hours of regular individual coaching sessions, which will be supported with marketing by NTA.
Key Responsibilities:
- To deliver and maintain a high quality, all-round coaching programme that caters for all ages and abilities.
- To deliver an initial minimum of 9 hours straight away, of core group coaching per week and be available for individual coaching delivery. There is an opportunity to increase the 9 hours to 18 in July. Full description available during the interview process.
- To assess the programme quality and check results regularly alongside the Programme Manager where necessary to ensure the programme and venues usage continues to grow.
- To undertake any other duties as may be required, such as coach meetings and off court training.
Hours and Compensation:
- Full-time role with 9 hours per week plus up to 10-15 hours of individual coaching.
- Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Potential additional income from personal coaching, competitions, camps, and community outreach is estimated at £12,000 – £16,000 per year.
- Total combined income between £25,000 – £30,000

- LTA Qualified and Accredited Level 2 coach or higher.
- Passionate about tennis with a solid coaching background.

Person Specification:
On-Court:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accredited LTA Coach.
- Ability to tailor sessions to various skill levels and ensure a dynamic, engaging learning environment.
- Commitment to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive, inclusive sporting environment.
Off-Court Responsibilities:
- Strong planning skills for developing and executing long-term programme growth.
- Ability to engage with NTA management, schools and parents.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
General Skills and Qualities:
- Dedication to personal and professional development, staying current with tennis coaching trends, sports management, and customer service.
