Job Description:

This is a part-time tennis coaching role starting with 10 hours of core group delivery, plus the opportunity to build up hours of individual coaching. This role is perfect for someone looking for part-time opportunities, but equally it will be suitable for an individual looking to build hours as there is scope for the role to develop into a full-time position. However we are equally content for the role to retain as a part-time position. 

On-court delivery consists of LTA Youth through to Adult group sessions on a weekly basis. The project has a waiting list of players ready to kick start a new programme. As this is a new programme with new provision, we have flexibility to work with the successful candidate to determine the programme schedule. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver an individual coaching and the candidate can run a self-employed coaching business alongside delivering a group coaching programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • On-Court Delivery: Conduct tennis coaching sessions, including LTA Youth Start, Tennis Express, Adult Sessions, and Cardio Tennis. Develop school/club links to enhance coaching programme. 
  • Personal Coaching Business: Opportunity to supplement income through individual coaching on a self-employed basis.
  • Plan to develop and execute long-term visions for programme growth.
  • Engage with NTA management, Schools and parents.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum 2 years experience as an Accredited LTA Coach, tailoring sessions to cater to a range of skill levels, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
  • Commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and promoting a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
  • DBS, First Aid at Work, Safeguarding certification in place.
Person Specification:
  • The successful candidate must be a level 2 or above, ideally working towards their Club Coach Award.
  • They must be comfortable working with children aged 4-17 and be trained as an LTA Youth coach. The candidate must also have: 
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the game
  •  Min 2 years experience in delivering a wide range of coaching sessions. 
  • A strong customer service ethos and desire to improve coaching services to all.
  • A professional manner and reliable
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team 
  • The passion for continued learning and self-development  
  • Experience in using software packages (including ClubSpark)

Overview of  Venue: 

St Michaels Park is situated in the heart of Cirencester, Gloucestershire. St Michaels Park 3 floodlit courts, 4 touch tennis courts and a cafe with a Costa Coffee Kiosk. With a waiting list of 25-30 players waiting for a coach, this will be a great opportunity to kick start the programme from the offset. 

There is free parking and access to the park is via either King Street or Admiral’s Walk.

Swindon Tennis Centre has outstanding facilities. St Mark’s underwent extensive redevelopment in 2015 and subsequent updates in 2019. These enhancements include ten newly painted LED floodlit tennis courts, four floodlit Touch Tennis courts, and a welcoming community café called The Park Coffee House. It boasts a large programme of over 200 players with established School/Club Links.
